Die Art wurde erst 1997 beschrieben und ist daher in Codds Flora of Southern Africa von 1985 nicht enthalten. Paton und Mitarbeiter überführten sie 2019 zu Coleus, liefern dort jedoch eine nomenklatorische Kombination und Verbreitung, keine vollständige Flora-Diagnose. Das Porträt kennzeichnet diese Quellenlücke ausdrücklich.The species was described only in 1997 and is therefore absent from Codd's 1985 Flora of Southern Africa. Paton and colleagues transferred it to Coleus in 2019, but provide a nomenclatural combination and range rather than a full flora diagnosis. This source gap is stated explicitly in the profile.
