02 / ERKENNUNGCHARACTERS
Wuchs und MerkmaleHabit and characters
A small compact subshrub with silvery indumentum and procumbent to trailing stems. Its fleshy silver-green leaves and pale bluish flowers form the conspicuous character combination in the Somali treatment. Calyx and corolla of a flowering plant must also be checked for a secure identification.

Reading the habitat
- Mikrohabitat & GeologieMicrohabitat & geology
The Flora of Somalia treats the species for northern Somalia; the type is from the Erigavo Escarpment near Solalia in the Sanaag Region. This documents a dry mountain-escarpment setting, but not necessarily the same microhabitat for every cultivated accession.
- Klima / StandorttypClimate / habitat type
- trockener Gebirgsstandort am Horn von Afrikadry montane habitat in the Horn of Africa
- Klima am dokumentierten FundortClimate at the documented locality
No sufficiently precise locality is documented for this accession. No accession-specific temperature or precipitation values are therefore given; the general climatic setting of the natural range remains the basis.
- Cultivation inference
The compact fleshy habit and dry escarpment origin cautiously suggest bright light, a strongly mineral and rapidly draining substrate, and clear drying between waterings. Cold wet conditions should be avoided; the precise seasonal rhythm remains origin-dependent.
