Nutzung, Giftigkeit und GrenzenUse, toxicity and limits
For P. succulentum, SANBI records a root preparation soaked in warm water for stomach ulcers and former use of the caudex as food and as a ferment in bread-making. Decaying tubers may also provide nesting sites for wild bees. Because of toxicity, conservation law and the risk of misidentification, these historical records are not recommendations for use.
