Reading the habitat
- Mikrohabitat & Geologie Microhabitat & geology
Distributed from the Transkei to coastal KwaZulu-Natal. It grows in forests or in semi-shaded rocky places not far from the coast.
- Klima / Biom Climate / biome
- saisonal geprägter Standort seasonally structured habitat
- Klima am dokumentierten FundortClimate at the documented locality
No sufficiently precise locality is documented for this accession. No accession-specific temperature or precipitation values are therefore given; the general climatic setting of the natural range remains the basis.
- Cultivation inference
Bright semi-shade, a humus-rich mineral and well-drained substrate, and regular moisture during growth are appropriate. Its coastal forest habitats indicate that it should not be treated as an extreme drought succulent.
