03 / LEBENSRAUM UND KULTURHABITAT AND CULTIVATION

Reading the habitat

Mikrohabitat & Geologie Microhabitat & geology
Codd regarded the species as native to India and introduced early to East Africa. In southern Africa it is recorded as cultivated and semi-naturalised. For this species the volume therefore provides chiefly morphological data rather than a reliable native habitat within its area.
Klima / Biom Climate / biome
saisonal geprägter Standort seasonally structured habitat
Klima am dokumentierten FundortClimate at the documented locality
No sufficiently precise locality is documented for this accession. No accession-specific temperature or precipitation values are therefore given; the general climatic setting of the natural range remains the basis.
Cultivation inference
The regional flora does not support a species-specific habitat-based cultivation regime. Its large, soft-wooded, semi-succulent habit suggests warmth, bright conditions without extreme drought, and a nutritious but well-drained substrate.
